Friday Conference

So I thought I would do something new this year so my mom (who runs and I did a live stream review instead of a written blog post. So here it is.

Conference day one

Today was the first day of conference and I had so much fun! My mom and I got there a bit early so I got to work on my computer for a bit.

Then I had a class on Emergency preparedness and keeping your genealogy safe here is a very important rule I learned from Denise Levenick; you should have 3 copies of everything, on at least 2 different media, and 1 in a off site location. You can remember it with just 3..2..1

I also went to a extremely helpful class on how to find information through geography, I also got to spend a lot of time with my mom, which is good, we spend so much time looking in to history we sometime forget were also making history.

Day One Jamboree

So The first day of this conference was AMAZING!!!! Even though I had to come in late because of summer school. I was still able to catch some classes like Lisa Louise Cook’s class about the best Google search strategies! She had some amazing tips and tricks for when you uses Google for Genealogy! She even wrote a book on it, called The Genealogist’s Google Toolbox It was so helpful I also got a lot of great tips and ideas from some friends from last year that helped me with my elusive great grandfather. Plus my mom and I also had dinner at the restaurant here at the hotel, proving the saying Sleep, eat, research, repeat to be a valid practice.
